US Ambassador to Egypt Francis Ricciardone said religions should be respected and religious beliefs,  creeds and rituals should not be insulted.

He said that the Palestinian issue is thorny, and that the Israelis and Palestinians should both abide by the decisions of the Quartet and the international community, and should activate the roadmap plan in order to solve it.

He added that the US Administration is willing to join hands  with the Egyptian government to help them reach a solution.

He made the remarks during a tour of Luxor city and Qena governorate to open projects financed by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in cooperation with the Egyptian government.
