Egypt was exposed to a series of civilizations throughout history. Following the Pharaonic civilization which lasted for thousands of years. Egypt was affected by the Roman and Greek civilizations and then the Coptic civilization. The Islamic civilization continued from the 7th C till the Modern Age.

Each civilization left eternal impacts which characterized various fields of architecture, arts and science. Therefore, Egypt looked as an open museum that included one third of the world monuments.
