The governorate of Giza organized on Thursday 29-6/2006 a ceremony in Al Orman Park on the occasion of starting the "Reading for All Festival" for the year 2006 under the slogan "Culture, language of peace". The festival witnesses, this year, an increase in the number of participating libraries reaching 1413 ones affiliated to directorates of education, youth and culture with 80 libraries increase than last year.

The libraries are spread all over villages and cities of the governorate and include more than 3 million books in different disciplines of knowledge.

The festival aims at spreading awareness of the importance of environment and encouraging children for reading and research, providing them with cultural and scientific information, improving their skills, talents and innovative capabilities and deep-rooting religious values inside them.
