Suzanne Mubarak attends seminar on youths

Mrs Suzanne Mubarak, wife of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak attended Sunday21/5/2006 a seminar on "youths and peace" as part of the World Economic Forum (WEF) activities in Sharm el-Sheikh.

Addressing the seminar, Mrs Mubarak tackled the role youths could play in disseminating the culture of peace and ways to give them the opportunity to express their views.

In addition to this, Mrs Suzanne Mubarak Chairperson of the Suzanne Mubarak International Movement for Women and Peace (SMIMWP), on Sunday21/5/2006 urged concerted international cooperation for fighting human trafficking.

In her speech, at a session of the World Economic Forum (WEF), now in session here, Mrs Mubarak indicated that cooperation was required between governments and international agencies to combat such an evil phenomenon.

A campaign that was initiated by the SMIMWP on this score heralded efforts for an international drive to eradicate the evil practice, she added.

Moreover, Mrs Mubarak received on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF), currently in session here, Head of the Dialogue Committee of the Higher Council for Islamic Affairs Ali al-Samman and former Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey.

Carey is the current chairman of the WEF Council of 100 leaders from different professions which works to strengthen links between the West and Islam.

Talks covered cooperation between the Suzanne Mubarak Women for Peace International Movement and the Dialogue Committee in the fields of education and the dissemination of the culture of peace.
