Farouk Hosni, Minister of Culture is to inaugurate in mid May "Amheteb Museum" in Saqqara area to be ready for receiving visitors for the first time after completing the restoration works as well as equipping it with state-of-the-art systems. Dr. Zahi Hawas,Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Antiquities said the project lasted for about three years and cost LE.11 million. The museum will house about 2000 pieces including artifacts and statues that were unearthed since starting of excavation in Saqqara area last century, added Hawas. |
