The Ministry of Culture has established a cultural festival at the Egyptian museum on the occasion of International Heritage Day. Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Zahi Hawas and a number of Arab and foreign diplomats attended the festival.
"Egypt has amassed significant achievements over the last 20 years in protecting and preserving its cultural heritage," Minister of Cultural Farouk Hosni said after opening the "Giza Treasures through Ages" fair organized by the Supreme Council.
Egypt’s celebration of the Day was based on the idea that it is one of the oldest countries and that it puts its cultural heritage on top of a list of its priorities, Hosni explained, pointing out that the Fair comprised a group of the rarest paintings and discoveries from Giza.
