Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif inaugurated yesterday ancient Wasila House, located behind Al-Azhar mosque, after the Culture Ministry had finished its restoration at a cost of L.E.5 million.
The opening ceremony was attended by Culture Minister Farouk Hosni, Minister of Local Administrative Abdul Rahim Shihata, Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Maghrabi, Cairo governor Abdul Azim Wazir, Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) Secretary-General Zahi Hawas and Culture Undersecretary Farouk Abdul Salam.
On his part, the Prime Minister hailed the Egyptian efforts and expertise which achieved the restoration process on scientific bases, confirming that the project of salvaging the Cairo historical monuments is one of the most important projects the state is keen on.
