Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni announces Wednesday 27/6/2007 at a press conference the discovery of the authentic mummy of ancient Queen Hetchpseut. The mummy was discovered by Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Zahi Hawwas. The mummy underwent a sophisticated DNA test that was developed especially for pharaohnic mummies. The test is conducted at an up-to-date laboratory at the Egyptian Museum. The lab is donated by US satellite channel Discovery. |
