First stage of Akhenaton Museum finalized

Dr. Zahi Hawass, the Chief of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities, announced yesterday 11-12-2007 the finalizing of the first stage of Akhenaton Museum established on 25 feddans on the Nile at Menya governorate at a cost of LE 47 million. The first stage includes a museum in a pyramidal shape established on 5,000 meters and comprises 14 display halls, restoration school, bazaar's area, theater and cafeteria, said Hawass. The second stage would include mechanic, technical and electrical installation for the museum besides furnishing laboratories, Hawass added. The third stage would include putting monumental pieces in the museum on display, Hawass concluded.
