Egypt restores ancient plaque from Britain

Egypt retrieved from Britain an ancient plaque taken from the tomb of priestess Mut Ereds at al-Assassif area in the Western Bank of Luxor, Upper Egypt.

The plaque was delivered to Dr Youssef Hamed Khalifa, the director of the ancient and stolen objects department, who returned from London recently.

Dr Zahi Hawwas, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities said the slab is part of the tomb wall which was unearthed by a German scientist 40 year ago.
