Egypt free of Swine Flu

The government announced that Egypt is so far free of swine flu. Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif has reports from the ministries of health, agriculture and environment confirming that no citizen has so far contracted swine flu. Reports got by the Prime Minister show that samples taken of all pig farms were all negative.

In the same context, Nazif stressed on Monday 27/04/2009 that no swine flu cases have been detected in Egypt so far and all precautionary measures have been taken.

Meantime, Cabinet Spokesman Magdi Radi said Egypt will boost its reserves of the Tamiflu which proved to be effective in fighting swine flu.

The spokesman added that the Premier ordered tightening measures to follow up any would-be swine influenza case as well as those entering the country through land, air and sea.

Moreover, Nazif highlighted the importance of making sure that pig farms are abiding by environment, veterinary and medical conditions, the spokesman said.
