“Female circumcision rates in Egypt have been cut to 52 percent,” Health Minister Hatem el-Gabaly said . He said it was thanks to the massive media campaigns that raised the public awareness of the ugly phenomenon. The Minister said before the campaigns the rate reached 100 percent.
