Giza Zoo closed

The Minister of Agriculture ordered the closure of the Giza Zoo for 15 days after 83 birds died, and six of them tested positive for the avian flu, the Health Ministry statement said.

Some 563 birds were culled at the Zoo, new cases of dead poultry were reported in the Giza areas of Faisal, EI Haram, EI Agouza, Nazlat EI-Semman, Omraniya, EI-Nahda street, Embaba, Warraq, Safet el-Laban, the statement said, noting that each reported case involved between five to 50 birds poultry. Also, some 134 birds died in the farm of Cairo University's Faculty of Agriculture.
