Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit warned Wednesday23/7/2008 of the very grave political consequences of a warrant by ICC's prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo for an arrest of Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir.
Egypt has expressed its view on the issue; such a move was irresponsible, Abul-Gheit said in an interview with the Egyptian television.
Sudan was torn by a conflict between the south and the north, and a rebellion in the Western region of Darfur, said Abul-Gheit.
"There are also thee million refugees who fled their homes in the south to the north, and about two million people displaced into camps in Darfur, as well as international forces on the ground.
"All these developments make the Sudanese society rife with problems," said Abul-Gheit, warning that the ICC prosecutor's move would have grave consequences.
Abul-Gheit said that the political impacts of such act should be taken into consideration.
