President Hosni Mubarak issued a presidential decree on Monday 18/8/2008 to establish the Egyptian E-Learning University.

"The university is to be set up as a non-profit seeking educational institution," said Minister of Higher Education Hani Hilal.

He noted that the new university is seeking to establish a technological and scientific base in all educational specializations to create a well-prepared university graduate.

The university is aimed at introducing high-quality education in line with the more recent educational systems in the world; he pointed out, adding that the university will include eight colleges, two research centers and several studies centers.
