EU: Egypt comes first in the Industrial policies evaluation in the southern Mediterranean countries

Egypt ranked first in the assessment of industrial policy southern Mediterranean countries according to a report by  the European Union, which participated in preparing it the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.   

EU report lauded the economic reform policy adopted by the government and its improved business climate in Egypt and attracts domestic and foreign investment.

The report incorporated a comparative assessment of nine countries from the southern Mediterranean which are: Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon , the Palestinian Authority and Israel.

Egypt ranked first in all dimensions of the evaluation that the report included except the dimensions of educational system that is linked with labour market and the efficiency of business organizations as Egypt occupied the second position.

Meanwhile, the report lauded the positive role played by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce through the supervision body of the Export and Import Support Fund to increase Egypt's ability to access global markets in addition to the role of the Industry Modernization Center, Industrial Development Authority and network technology centres in the modernization of industry and increase the competitiveness of industrial products in the market.

Local and global report also referred to efforts to modernize credit, quality and qualifications systems .
