Mubarak inaugurates AVEX 2008 air show exhibition in Sharm el-Sheikh

President Hosni Mubarak Wednesday 5/11/2008 opened the four-day AVEX 2008 air show and aviation EXPO in Sharm El Sheikh, with 54 Egyptian, Arab and foreign companies taking part.

The President praised the development witnessed by the Egyptian air aviation sector, stressing the need for developing cooperation between the Egyptian companies and their world counterparts in order to benefit from the sophisticated technology in the field of maintenance, and air services to secure the provision of developed services for the users of the Egyptian airlines.

President Mubarak inspected the pavilions of the companies that participate in the exhibition and especially those specialized in the manufacture of civilian aircraft and represent 22 countries.

He also heard a briefing by Ahmed Shafiq the Minister of Civil Aviation on the contents of the exhibition that was held over the area of 150,000 square meters.

President Mubarak stressed his support and interest in the civil aviation sector.
