The NDP congress and the future's vision

The annual congress of the National Democratic Party is due to start next Saturday. The NDP congress is to be held in the wake of two historic initiatives launched by President Honsi Mubarak. In 2005, Mubarak proposed the amendment of Article 76 of the Constitution to allow for the holding of the first ever multi-presidential elections. In 2007, Mubarak called for the amendment of 34 articles of the Constitution which included all economic, social and political issues.

In addition, the NDP is to elect its president for the first ever time; hence, the congress reflects the new thought of the NDP via upgrading and modernizing its by-law. The major pivots of the NDP congress target the Egyptian citizen, particularly the limited-income brackets. They also focus on the social justice, citizenship, promoting health and educational services, confronting over-population issue, supporting the poor families, employment, investment and the national security.
