"The population issue is a national and not partisan issue," a sentence decisively put by Gamal Mubarak, Secretary of the Policies Secretariat in the National Democratic Party. The workshop held by the NDP launched many questions concerning the population issue. But, why to revive the national concern of the population issue and what is the danger it poses to Egypt? To answer these questions, the NDP launched in its national initiative the reasons behind the revival of this issue as represented in the results of the successive increase of the population in Egypt.

The NDP workshop aims to prepare new plans on the part of the State to confront the population issue including the re-formation of the National Council of Population plus establishing an executive committee to follow up the matter. The NDP launched the initiative and all categories in the community, non-governmental organizations and individuals should assume their roles given that the population issue is a national problem which threatens the future. Hence, there should be a popular effective plan in cooperation with the government for quick confrontation of the upcoming danger.
