For the first ever time, President Hosni Mubarak was Yesterday 3/11/2007 elected as leader of the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) by secret and direct balloting in an exclusive sitting preceding the inaugural session of the NDP's 9th General Congress.
Mubarak's electioneering has been carried out within the framework of an extremely significant democratic practice showing political and partisan connotation.
Electing Mubarak as chairman of the ruling National Democratic Party through direct and secret balloting crowns the comprehensive restructuring operation which has already been undertaken by the Party to select its hierarchical system of leaderships from the bottom to the zenith.
Unequivocally, this means that Egypt under the historical leadership of President Hosni Mubarak was absolutely keen on revitalizing the political participation of the masses and the populace so that they can contribute to the crystallization of the political decision-making process.
Such a decision-making process constitutes the prelude for achieving the much aspired national targets for the Egyptian people, notably a better and quality life based on social justice, availability of services, abundant job opportunities, housing and health.
It is now high time that the Egyptian people should touch the benefits of the economic readjustment revenues and the effects of the growth rate which the country managed to realize under the government of the ruling National Democratic Party.
Social justice, developing the services and the local administration as well as the social insurance array enhancement were the priorities that came in the fore of the NDP futuristic policies on ground that they constitute the important pillars of the homeland's socio-economic stability.
Providing a better life for the Egyptians was the sublime goal of the NDP according to the 9th congress documents which proved that the ruling party has persistently endeavored to mend matters between the leaderships and the masses.
Undoubtedly, Egypt managed to achieve good economic growth rates which the world economic establishments have praised. This is great, but the greatest would be that the ordinary citizens should themselves tangibly touch the fruits and incomes of such an economic growth in their day-to-day life. It is imperative to indicate that President Hosni Mubarak since he first assumed the leadership of the nation had been persistent on accomplishing the hopes of the Egyptian people for advancement and progress.
The economic development was the means for improving the living conditions of the Egyptians. Eventually, Egypt under the leadership of President Hosni Mubarak does not solely endeavor to revitalize the democratic exercise but also works at the same time to provide a better a more beautiful life for the sons of this homeland.
