9th General NDP Congress

 The National Democratic Party (NDP) hold its 9th Annual Congress on November 2-6, 2007,  

under the slogan "We move Our Country Ahead" which shows that the social orientation represents the essence and core of the conference and the main point of all working papers.

During the ninth conference, the NDP will review a number of new policies which include specific proposals concerning many issues of priority divided into four pivots: employment and investment, services and social justice, national security, citizenship and democracy with a focus on supporting multi-party system, promoting the rule of the law and justice, boosting civil society and professional syndicates, empowering women and enhancing public freedoms.

The party is scheduled to offer, during the conference, a future vision for energy policies till 2022 through 14 specialized sessions and 7 general ones. The conference includes four elements representing the intellectual base for the policies papers to be discussed by the conference aiming at addressing directly the most needy categories and areas namely:

1- Confirming that the reform policies aim at realizing higher growth rates continuously while distributing said rate fairly in order that the larger number of citizens feel that they are partners in making this growth and benefiting from its revenue as well as their role in maximizing the national wealth of the country.

2- Targeting a plan for specific places and individuals whereas the general policy seeks to change their current reality after setting a clear map for the social situation in villages and districts all over the republic, being in dire need of services whether in rural or urban areas.

3- Developing the process of policies formulation from the stage of setting goals and public orientations to offering specific obligations based on available finance, executive programs and specific time plans concerning education, health, potable water, sewage, urban planning for villages, systems of insurance and pensions.

4- Necessity of the general policies' integration including education, health, job opportunities and social guarantees thus achieving the aspired change in the social reality of individuals and families along with the continuous improvement in teachers' positions while developing the technical education system to provide the necessary skills and capabilities required by the productive sectors in economy.
