Nomination for the post of NDP head opened

Members of the National Democratic Party NDP unanimously decided to nominate President Hosni Mubarak as head of the NDP during the 9th NDP National Congress to be held next Saturday.

NDP Secretary General Safwat El Sherif said 650 party units, 300 electoral conferences and 26 conferences at governorates level have unanimously chosen President Mubarak to be nominated for the post of head of NDP.

Sherif added stressing if the whole people of Egypt have chosen President Mubarak as President of the country, therefore the NDP could not violate the will of the nation.

Election of the head of the NDP is to be conducted during the first session of the NDP 9th Congress next Saturday.

Counselor Mohamed Al Dakrori Secretary of Ethics and Legal Affairs at the NDP and member of the committee supervising the election of head of the NDP said NDP Secretary General sent messages to all governorates secretariats to receive applications for all those who would like to run for head of the NDP elections, if he secured the consent of 20 percent of the party cadres in a written document.

The election of the head of the NDP is to be conducted during the first session of the 9th congress.

If only there is just one candidate, he is to secure the written consent of 50 percent members who attend the congress next Saturday.
