President Hosni Mubarak inaugurates the 9th congress of the National Democratic Party tomorrow 3/11/2007 with a short speech. Mubarak is to hold a number of meetings with members of the politburo, and businessmen and will inaugurate an exhibition of national products.
The President is to deliver a comprehensive political speech at the closing session of the congress, in which Mubarak will define the elements of national action during the stage to come. The congress will witness for the first time the procedures of electing President Mubarak as chairman of the National Democratic Party.
Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif is to give an account on the performance of the government and the carrying out of the commitments pledged in the President's election program, which the President presented to the congress two years ago.
Safwat El-Sharif Secretary General of the NDP said President Mubarak called for introducing changes as well as developing the National Democratic Party amidst severe conflicts and big changes in the region, as he aimed at the stability of Egypt and giving rise to hope by people and creating more work opportunities to the youth.
The NDP Secretary General is to review an all-out report on the party performance since the development of the NDP, before the plenary session to be held with members of the General Secretariat and the politburo members.
Gamal Mubarak Assistant NDP Secretary General and Secretary of Policies will review the plan of the NDP for facing urgent issues affecting the life of the Egyptian citizen.
Dr. Zakariya Azmi Assistant Secretary General of NDP for Organization, Membership and Financial and Administrative Affairs will give a report on the NDP budget and balance of payment and the membership question.
Alieddin Hilal Secretary of Information said the congress will stress the pledges of the NDP on carrying out well defined commitments for bringing about social justice. Hilal said the party is pledging a pension for every body above the age of 65.
