The National Democratic Party's national security committee underlined the importance of foreign policy as part of a comprehensive national security strategy.
During the NDP's 9th annual congress, the committee highlighted that Egypt was moving at the regional level to support the Palestinian issue and push forward efforts aiming to reach a peaceful settlement and establish the Palestinian state.
As for Iraq, Egypt is seeking to maintain the country's unity and territorial integrity and is calling on the Iraqi parties to halt bloodletting.
The committee also pointed out to Egypt's efforts to solve the Lebanese political crisis.
Egypt is also playing an important role in cementing Sudan's unity and implementing the peace agreement in the south, the committee said, adding that Egyptian forces were also taking part in the peacekeeping in south Sudan.
Egypt is also working to solve the Darfur crisis, the committee noted.
The committee stressed Egypt's keenness to enhance ties with world powers, especially the United States and the European Union.
