Shehab: NDP lays down policies and work plans for the stage to come

NDP Assistant Secretary General for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Mufid Shehab said that the recent congress of the National Democratic Party was successful. Shehab added in press statements yesterday, President Mubarak expressed hope that other parties would organize similar conferences for activating the party life in Egypt.

He added that this is a testimony by Mubarak that the congress was a success, he added.

The speech of the president came to crown the works of the congress and to lay down the policies and plans of the national action during the stage to come.

Mubarak held the NDP and government responsible for laying down definite programmes, to carry out those policies and plans, especially those connected with social justice and to give much attention to the poor and limited-income categories.

Shehab said the success of the congress was due to a number of reasons topped with the good preparations and the attendance of distinguished cadres from the base to the high ranking officials as well as studies made for raised issues, which dealt with amendments in the statute and evaluation of the accomplishments of the party during the past five years in addition to the political, economic and social issues of the masses.
