The Accra summit gained importance being responsible for crystallizing a practical vision of the African response to international changes and means of getting out of problems and conflicts.

Some of these problems were born out of slavery and suffering under European colonialism that used to usurp the continent's natural and human resources depriving people from the least rights , rendering them mere servants to the white man.

Other conflicts sprang from years following independence which was mere meaningless motto in many countries with growing economic and border conflicts in addition to military coup d'etat and tribal struggles.

The Accra summit faces grievous challenges represented in the way out of this political, economic, social and spiritual and health abyss. It is a responsibility that should be shouldered by all African countries on an equal footing.

If the African countries have succeeded over the last years to put an end to the chaos born out of the military coup d'etat and join forces to combat any endeavours seeking to violate the legitimacy of the ruling systems, the continent is still unable to firmly combat many wars and civil wars risking the lives of millions as in Somalia.

I think that the African summit is also required to exert the effort to gain the consent of rich countries to write off the African debts that hinder all development programmes.

It is well-known that a big part of the financial and economic problems in any African country is due to corruption and recklessness and full dependence on nutrition aid.

Moreover, the African continent suffers from educational and cultural illiteracy at high rates beside diseases and lack of knowledge in the era of technology and internet.

This summit makes for the hope of realizing the African dream holding the banner of the African unity.
