African summit in face of problems

The ninth African summit scheduled to be held in Accra, Ghana with the presence of President Hosni Mubarak acquires a special significance. The summit comes at a time conditions in Africa are deteriorated specially in connection with the armed conflicts where the number exceeds 18 ones resulting everyday in new victims.

The economic positions for most of African people are witnessing negative development, thus, reflecting on the living standards of African citizens besides the spread of diseases, failure of development plans and increase of foreign debts volume. Consequently, this summit must go beyond speeches and promises and set up practical programs to be performed.

The foreign world surrounding the African continent shows, every day, indifference to the tragedies on the African lands since ages of colonization. Although all African countries has achieved the political independence but they failed to achieve the economic one and the African economies have related to the wheel of world economy including transferring all negative points of globalization to the poor Africans. Therefore, African leaders have to be aware of this crisis and discuss, in their summits, means of getting out of it.

Egypt, as an original African country on the level of history and geography, must play the role of inspirer and so that all African leaders were keen on the participation of President Mubarak in this important summit.
