The role of the Association:

Prior African states' independence:
The Association then called the African League, provided liberation movements in Africa with political, military and material assistance.

Role in post-independence of African states:
As an African Union's vehicle, the Association is charged with promoting the Union's goals and highlighting the continent's potential for integration.

It is also the headquarters of African students in Egypt, caring for no less than 15 thousand Africans studying in Egyptian universities.
