Warsaw summit and enhancing Egyptian-Polish relations

President Hosni Mubarak's visit to Poland aims at fostering bilateral cooperation in political and economic domains and strengthening ways of understanding about the international and regional issues. The political and diplomatic efforts exerted by President Mubarak target Egypt's benefits.

President Mubarak arrived Monday in Warsaw on a three-day official visit to Poland to meet Polish President Lech Kaczynski.

The historical and political importance of this visit lies in the fact that this visit is considered to be the first visit at the Presidential level since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and Poland, in 1927. Thus, this summit will strengthen the political and economical relations between the two countries.

The Egyptian-Polish summit between the two Presidents will focus on important regional and international issues particularly peace issue in the ME, Lebanese crisis and the Iraqi situations. Poland is very concerned with these issues since joining the EU in 2004.

Warsaw summit also will discuss ways of reactivating the EU role in the Middle East and Poland's participation in this process.

They also will hold a plenary session of talks to probe means to boost Egyptian-Polish cooperation in the trade, investment and tourism fields.
