The visit paid by President Hosni Mubarak to Poland represents one of the untraditional historical political visits, not only because it is the first visit for an Egyptian President since 80 years but also because it reveals how Egypt manages its foreign relations in coincidence with its role and status in the contemporary world.
The selection of countries to be visited by President Mubarak depends on an accurate strategic vision thus coping with our world which witnesses a decisive period with regard to the method of conflicts management, interests' formation, building of long-run strategic relations with countries and calling on them to participate on an equal footing in the management of policies in the world.
The development and modernization of Egyptian political and economic relations with Europe represent a fixed strategy in the foreign policy of President Mubarak who is keen on establishing solid bilateral relations. The development of relations with Poland and new Europe in general acquires a special importance because of many factors relating to its stances towards issues and future of our region.
Other factors are economic ones relating to Poland, Czech and other European countries in the region as well as vision of President Mubarak towards the economic relations with Europe in general. Both Poland and Egypt are classified among the countries with quick growth rates.
The foreign policy of President Mubarak proves his capacity to put Egypt at the appropriate place on the world map.
