President Hosni Mubarak and his Polish counterpart will hold a summit Tuesday 11/3/2008 at the Polish presidential palace.
"The Egyptian-Polish summit will focus on regional issues, particularly the situation in the Palestinian territories, efforts to resuscitate the peace process and the outcome of Annapolis Conference between the Palestinians and Israelis," Egyptian presidential spokesman Suliman Awwad said.
The two leaders will also discuss the conditions in Lebanon and Iraq, Iran's nuclear file and their impact on the European security, the spokesman said.
Mubarak's visit to Poland aims at coordinating stances on regional issues, topped by the Palestinian cause, the presidential spokesman said.
At the economic level, the visit aims at beefing up the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, currently standing at 299 million dollars, and luring more Polish investments to Egypt in all sectors, the spokesman added.
In the tourism field, the visit aims at increasing number of Polish tourists traveling to Egypt, Awwad said. Nearly 350,000 Polish tourists visited Egypt annually, he added.
The visit will also give a strong push to cooperation between Egypt, Poland and the East European states in light of Poland's membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and Council of the European Union, said Awwad.
