Trade, Industry Minister: Polish delegation to visit Egypt in May for more economic cooperation

Egypt and Poland agreed on holding future meetings aimed at promoting economic cooperation.

A high-level Polish delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Waldemar Pawlak, will visit Egypt in May, said Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister.

Following a meeting with Pawlak, Rashid Mohamed Rashid said the delegation is expected to have talks in Egypt on boosting bilateral economic and trade relations.

The delegation will also participate in the World Economic Forum in the Red Sea resort Sharm el-Sheikh, Rashid added.

A meeting of business councils and businessmen forum would bring together representatives of 150 companies from both sides, Rashid said. Some Polish companies are keen on doing business in Egypt, he added.

The two sides agreed on cooperating in petrochemical, agricultural produces and industries, he said.

The coming meetings will also look into ways of increasing the number of Polish tourists visiting Egypt, said Rashid.

Earlier, Rashid held a meeting with representatives of 40 Polish companies at the Polish Chamber of Commerce HQ.

Rashid is currently visiting Warsaw as a member of a delegation accompanying President Hosni Mubarak during his official visit to Poland.
