Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit presented a report to President Hosni Mubarak on the outcome of the Annapolis peace conference that wrapped up Wednesday 28/11/2007, said foreign Ministry spokesman Hossam Zaki.
The US and Palestinian sides are serious about pushing forward the Mideast peace process, the report said, voicing hope that the Israeli side would show the same spirit.
The international community, especially the US, is serious about jump-starting the Mideast peace process and settling the Palestinian question via intensive and continued negotiations as agreed at the Annapolis conference, according to the report presented by Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-gheit to President Hosni Mubarak.
The report tackled in details Arab contacts held on the sidelines of the Annapolis conference as well as coordination between Palestinian and other Arab delegations in light of Egypt's efforts to create harmony among the various Arab parties.
The Foreign Minister forwarded thanks and appreciation from key US and European officials as well as the United Nations Secretary General and Ministers and representatives from other participating countries for Egypt's peace efforts and its wise policy in helping the conflicting parties to continue negotiations and reach a just settlement.
