Egypt's Islamic Opinion-Giving Authority yesterday denounced Israel's heinous attack against the southern Lebanese city of Qana, which left dozens of defenseless women and children either dead or wounded.
In a statement issued Sunday July 30, 2006, the Authority condemned all forms of aggression against Palestinians and Lebanese which led to the slaughtering of the innocent.
The statement further urged that those responsible for the attack on the Lebanese people be brought to account. Looking the other way, the statement added, is a crime in and by itself. All God-worshiping people were urged to express their condemnation at the top of their lungs.
In its statement the Authority proclaimed as martyrs all those killed in the Qana massacre, noting that no prayers should be held for their souls since they would certainly go straight to Heaven.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Research Academy of the Holy Azhar also condemned the heinous massacre committed by Israeli soldiers in Qana, which left more than 50 children dead.
The Academy further asserted that such a monstrosity can only be the action of those who might have lost all forms of human ethics.
