Egyptian superstar Hussein Fahmi quit Sunday30/7/2006 his United Nations honourary post as a Goodwill Ambassador in protest at the UN induction in the current Lebanese crisis.

Fahmi said the world body let down the Lebanese people in the ferocious Israeli attacks, which killed up to 750 people, the vast majority are civilians.

"I'm no longer proud of belonging to this organization, which proved potent even to condemn the Israeli acts or move to stop the (Israeli) massacres," tearful Fahmi told reporters.
