The Grand Mufti Dr. Ali Gomaa Sunday described Israel's practices in Lebanon and Palestine as contradictory with all internationally established values and norms.

Addressing a seminar in Upper Egypt on the culture of peace the Grand Mufti said that Islam prohibits the killing of children, women and the elderly.

He also said that Islam sanctions war only in case of self-defense. He pointed out that Arab and Islamic nations are facing brutal attack that needs them to unite in order to defend the religion and the homeland.
