NDP Assistant Secretary General asserts support for Lebanese people

Mr. Gamal Mubarak, the National Democratic Party's assistant secretary general and secretary of policies, said in the meeting held by the supreme council of policies on Friday 1/8/2006 that the NDP rejects and denounces the Israeli brutal onslaught on Lebanon.

He noted that the NDP stance is based on the call for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and necessity to issue a resolution by the UN Security Council calling for cessation of military operations, supporting the Lebanese people and government especially the stance declared by the Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Seniora before the Rome Conference and strongly condemning the Israeli assault including the heinous massacre of Qana.

Mr. Gamal Mubarak stressed the strong support for the Lebanese people via establishing an airlift to introduce the humanitarian aid to them including a field hospital to meet the dire need and deal with the human consequences caused by the Israeli attack.

This stance was expressed in a statement issued by the NDP general secretariat, he added. Mr. Gamal referred to the call of President Mubarak to hold a prompt international investigation on Qana massacre.
