Chairman of the Egyptian Lebanese Businessmen Friendship Association (ELBA) Negad Shaarawi said that the association was seeking to participate in reconstruction in Lebanon following the war.

In statements Friday August 18, he said that the association was studying projects that could be established, adding that the next stage would focus on contracting and reconstruction activities as well as increasing Egyptian, Lebanese and Arab exports to world markets.

 
Shaarawi also called for a re-evaluation of a free trade zone between Egypt and Lebanon.
He said that a campaign to raise donations for the Lebanese was continuing, with many businessmen and private sector companies contributing.
