Doubtful as it may be, the war in Lebanon may have come to an end. However, throughout its history Israel has yet to honor any resolutions adopted by the Security Council. It is therefore very much expected that it would resume its attacks against Hezbollah, particularly with the absence of a ceasefire-monitoring mechanism which oversees implementation. Furthermore, Israel has long been claiming that Hezbollah was the party to initiate the onslaught. The phrasing of the Resolution is so flexible that it allows all sorts of violations to go unpunished.
Ehud Olmert, the Israeli prime minister is being the greatest failure. Soon he will be counting his losses. He will attempt to win back the credentials lost on the Israeli street especially since the laymen, long boasting an invincible army, were cheated.
