Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit said on Friday July 21 that an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon is a must to spare more civilian bloodshed.
Abul-Gheit met Friday with EU Foreign Policy and Security Chief Javier Solana. Solana visited the region for the second time in less than four days in a bid to contain the crisis between Israel and Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy arrived in Cairo Friday on a two-day visit to Egypt. The top French diplomat will hold talks with Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit on the deteriorating situation in Lebanon and means of solving the crisis.
