Egypt's embassy in Beirut has halted land evacuation of Egyptians from Lebanon following Israeli shelling of the main roads. Instead, they will be evacuated by air aboard aid airplanes.
Talal Fadli, Egyptian Consul-General in Beirut said the move was taken after Lebanese security bodies warned of using coastal roads, the only remaining roads after the Israeli bombardment.
Arrangements are underway to transfer them to Egypt by air from Beirut Airport, he explained.
