President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak phoned Friday July 28 Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora. The talks dwelt on a meeting hosted by Rome to defuse the Hizbullah-Israel crisis.
At least 600 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the fighting, which was erupted after Hizbullah took prisoner two Israeli soldier in a cross border operation.
Massive Israeli bombardment has also left Lebanon's infrastructure in ruins.
Meanwhile, Five Egyptian military C-130 planes arrived in Lebanon, carrying medicine, food stuffs and blankets and other medical kits for the Lebanese people at directives.
The aid also includes some 4.2 tonnes powdered milk and 5.6 tonnes of medicine.
Also, a sixth Egyptian aid aircraft will arrive in Beirut Saturday July 29.
Egyptian Consul-General Talal Fadli in Beirut said a field hospital will be also set up in Beirut to cater for the Lebanese people wounded in the Israeli air strikes.
