Mubarak discusses latest developments on Palestinian, Lebanese arenas with King Abdullah, Abu Mazen, Siniora

Egypt has maintained its efforts at the Arab and international efforts with the aim of containing the volatile situation on the Palestinian and Lebanese arenas.

In this context, President Mubarak Sunday23/7/2006 discussed in a telephone conversation with King Abdullah II of Jordan, efforts aimed at reaching an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, President Hosni Mubarak discussed over the phone with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora the latest developments 'in the Palestinian territories and Lebanon.

The President asserted that Egypt would spare no effort to bring the Israeli military operations to an end as soon as possible and support a diplomatic approach to the current crisis.

Moreover, Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul- Gheit will have talks Monday25/7/2006 with Igor Ivanov, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council in the framework of the Egyptian diplomatic efforts which aim at reaching a ceasefire in Lebanon and ending the Israeli aggression on the Lebanese and Palestinian people.
