Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Seniora sent President Hosni Mubarak a cable of appreciation of the role he plays in the current crisis of Lebanon.

Seniora paid tribute to Mubarak's deep sympathy towards the critical situation in Lebanon after the atrocious Israeli aggression.

He added that Mubarak was at the forefront of  those who responded to the Lebanese call.

Following is the text of the cable:
Your Excellency President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak
President of Arab Republic of Egypt
Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon you,

I would like to express my, as well as Lebanese people's, gratitude to the deep sympathy that you displayed towards our country in its current ordeal caused by the barbaric, atrocious and tyrannous Israeli aggression on Lebanon.

You were at the vanguard of those responding to our call, which is not abnormal. We have always been accustomed to your honesty in serving the Arab nation's causes and you have always had the soft hands which heal our injuries in all disasters and calamities our country has suffered.

You have been persistent through your contacts, encouragement and solidarity with us. You have also sent His Excellency Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss and exchange opinions. You have done all what can be done to alleviate the hardships of the Lebanese people.

Egypt, the leader sister country, was, and still, the resort of the Lebanese people's hopes. We have witnessed from you and the Egyptian people the highest levels of solidarity, persistence and commitment during our ordeal.

You have been through more than a year the ideal brother who took the initiative to exchange opinions, discuss and present all forms of support and assistance in a unique sense of fraternity.

The Lebanese people will never forget your stance, we highly appreciate your kind initiative and we thank you for your concern.

Lebanon is proud of your friendship and pins its hope to recover on your assistance.

May Allah preserve our countries and nation.
