President Hosni Mubarak and Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmed Al-Sabah held a session of talks in the Egyptian Mediterranean port city of Alexandria on Monday.
The talks focused on the situation in the Middle East, particularly in Lebanon and the Palestinian lands and ongoing efforts to realize stability in the region following the Israeli offensive on Lebanon.
This is the first visit by the Emir of Kuwait to Egypt since he assumed office.
Mubarak accompanied his Kuwaiti guest from the airport to Ras Al-Tein Palace where they held their talks.
Sheikh Sabah's entourage includes Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed Al-Sabah in addition to other senior officials.
Mubarak hosted a dinner banquet on Monday in honor of Sheikh Sabah and his accompanying delegation.
The Emir of Kuwait leaves Egypt early on Wednesday. Egypt was the first leg in a multi-leg tour that will take Sheikh Sabah to UR, the US and Cuba.
