Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak on Saturday visited the Mediterranean Institute for Transplantation and Advanced Specialized Therapies in the Italian city of Palermo.
The visit comes as part of Mrs. Mubarak's activities during her stay in Palermo.
Mrs. Mubarak received Friday the "Orange Seed" award from the Standing Committee for the Euro-Mediterranean partnership for Local and Regional Authorities.
Speaking to MENA, Mrs. Mubarak voiced hope that the two countries would promote swift cooperation, especially in the field of organ transplants.
Mrs. Mubarak hailed the level of the state-of-the-art technology used in the Italian institute.
What matters now is to succeed in transferring expertise, promoting scientific exchange and training Egyptian physicians at the Italian institute, she added.
Mrs. Mubarak said that there was a scientific and academic cooperation between Egypt's Helwan University and Palermo University.
She said the Italian side was willing to promote cooperation with Egypt in the different fields, predicting her visit would open up new vistas of cooperation between the two nations.
Mrs Mubarak left Palermo Saturday wrapping up visit to Italy
