Mrs. Mubarak demands a plan for coping with street children

Mrs. Suzan Mubarak, the chairperson of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood assigned the Council the task of preparing an emergency plan to cope with the street children phenomenon.

This is based on the national strategy on care for the homeless children that has already been schemed by the Council in the year 2003 in consultations with the bodies concerned.

In the meantime, Minister of Social Security Dr. Ali Mueselhi said that the problem of Egypt's street children is an existent national problem which can not be denied.

Addressing the People's Assembly Religious and Awkaf's affairs committee on Sunday evening Mueselhi said careful attention has been given to train and qualify human cadres that could handle and deal with the problem.
