Suzanne Mubarak, the founder of the Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement (SMWIPM), urged on Monday the youth to participate in the coming International Youth Forum.
She posted messages in Arabic and English on the forum's website, which she launched Thursday, encouraging youth to participate in the event. "The forum is meant to bring closer world youths believing in peace as a value that should prevail in the whole universe," Mrs. Mubarak said.
"The forum will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh on September 1-3 to offer the youth, the future leaders, a chance to demonstrate their skills in realizing a change for the better and upgrade their capabilities to achieve their objectives," she added, underscoring keenness on getting acquainted with the youth's experience, ideas and ambitions.
On her part, SMWIPM director general Nagwa Sho'eib said a great number of youths world-wide visit the forum's web site to register for taking part in the event. "About 800 youths from 100 countries expressed desire on the web page to participate in the forum," she said, noting that a large number of youths had also sent non-electronic registration messages. She said this number largely surpasses the number the forum could host, noting that Thursday would be the deadline for registration.
"Youths who have had experience in similar events would be more qualified to be chosen in order to enrich discussions, with due consideration to ensuring a representation of all participating countries," she made it clear.
