Mrs. Mubarak sheds light on role of youths in development

Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak conveyed to the world a new Egyptian message of peace entitled "global citizen in a secure world" in the address she gave Monday 24/9/2007 at the opening of the Global Forum on Youth and ICT for development in Geneva.  

Mrs. Mubarak gave the keynote inaugural address of the forum in her capacity as the Chairperson of the Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement (SMWIPM).

In her address, Mrs. Mubarak said that Sharm El-Sheikh Forum for youths had affirmed that the youth were partners in making the future, saying the youths spoke clearly during the forum.

She said the youths focused during the forum on political, economic and cultural issues.

Mrs. Mubarak affirmed that the viewpoint of youths towards peace constituted a joint concept based on the true freedom and achieving goals.

The message she carried to the forum included an initiative that calls for the use of information and communication technology (ICT) to serve peace and encourage the young people of the world to engage in peace-building fields and to assume their role in spreading the language of peace and love around the globe.

Moreover, Mrs. Suzane Mubarak met Adolf Ogi, Special Advisor on Sport for Development and Peace and former Swiss president, yesterday.

During the meeting they discussed the roles sports play in supporting peace and spreading awareness about dialogue among youth.
