President Hosni Mubarak is set to hold talks Wednesday with UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan in Cairo.
Discussions will focus on the developments of the Middle Eastpeace process. The Syrian-Lebanese dossier is also likely to feature high on the agenda in light of the Mehlis report investigating the assassination of late Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri and the relevant Security Council resolution.
The Mubarak-Annan meeting follows on talks held earlier to consolidate regional stability between President Mubarak and other Arab leaders, especially Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. It also dovetails a tour made by Annan's special envoy, Terje-Roed Larsen, to several countries in the region.
